The NPL is setting up a Centre for Freeform Measurement, together with a special interest network for freeform metrology. Launching at the NPL, Teddington, on 1st October, this industrially focused centre will provide high precision measuring facilities, such as laser scanners, white light fringe projectors and other coordinate measuring systems. It will also provide traceability routes via complex reference artefacts and support for a range of diverse measuring techniques and associated point cloud data handling processes.
